Anyone who has been in Austria for more than 12 hours must be tested negative for COVID-19 before entering Italy.

The obligation also applies to professional drivers who have spent more than 12 hours in Austria in the last 14 days. There will be no controls at the border, but during possible inspection by the relevant authorities during the arrival or transit entry, the driver will have to show a negative test result (PCR or antigen), not older than 7 days.
