Germany – extension of restrictions related to the areas of “coronavirus variants”

By | 3 March 2021

Germany decided today to extend until midnight 17.03.2021 restrictions related to the entry of travelers from areas classified by the Robert Koch Institute as “areas with variants of the virus”, i.e. from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austrian Tirol and the French department of Moselle.

Unfortunately, there are still no exceptions to the restrictions that would apply to drivers of international transport.

  • before entering Germany from areas with virus variants, a negative COVID-19 test result (no older than 48h) is required
  • before crossing the border, you must register in the German system, available at https://www.einreiseanmeldung.de – there are no exceptions to this activity, in the case of entering from areas with virus variants
  • the two steps above should be performed both when loading or unloading and only when driving through the above areas
